Jamie Lee Sugarman first discovered her love for painting murals while in high school where she received personal instruction and work experience in the art of painting large scale on walls.

She then went on to be trained by Disneyland and worked there sketching chalk portraits, inking caricatures, and cutting silhouettes.

Most of her colors mixing techiques were learned while working at Insta Graphics in Cerritos.

Jamie Lee Sugarman has taken specialized classed in airbrush techniques, oil and acrylic painting, Stained Glass design, and has trained in color theory and application. Most of her formal training has been though Orange Coast College and Fullerton College.

She’s the published illustrator for:

  • Ragle, Nina S.; Even Monkeys Fall Out of Trees John Naka’s collection of Japanese proverbs.
  • Spencer, Tricia; TIPS The Server’s Guide to Bringing Home the Bacon, Lilac Bloom Press 2002
  • Her caricatures show prominently on the front cover of Orange County Lawyer magazine, volume 34, 12/92
  • Photos of Jamie Lee and her murals for the Pilar Wayne’s Design House of ’92 were printed in the Official CHS/ISID Design House Program
  • Jamie Lee has illustrated and done cartoon activity pages for KIDSSTUFF magazine, Kids Konnected Hope the Bear, and Good Cooks Book Vol. II.
